Terranuda Gardens
A garden is in a constant state of flux. While a designer can offer lines and structure to a landscape, nature constantly blurs these boundaries as the garden grows and evolves.
Our custom landscape designs welcome this duality—the interplay of controlled yet wild— as we encourage each garden to express its own spirit and identity.
Urban Patio
When this client first got in touch with terranuda, they expressed the necessity to rethink the little patio of their home: they enjoyed to host dinners with friends and they needed to have an outdoor space that was inviting for people to sit and socialized comfortably.
The project concentrated on creating a garden that was a natural extension of the house, designing a bench to sit and gather around but also providing privacy from the road intersection on the other side of the wall.
Hillside Meadow
This project was one of the most unique in its process that terranuda has worked on.
The starting point was familiar: a forgotten overgrown garden, poorly looked after. But the homeowners had not only the will to bring the garden back to life, but also to be part of the beautification process. They wanted to learn and understand the work that goes behind the planting of the garden , and the care necessary in order for the new space to grow and thrive through the years.
Playing in the Redwoods
The main challenge for terranuda was to create a fun space for when the family gatherings and festivities, while maintaining its charm and peaceful atmosphere. The old lawn was replaced by a terraced flower garden on one side of the house, and the front section of the lawn transformed into a fairy tale chess board patio with a boxwood maze by one of its sides.
Home Office & Garden
Our home office is located under the big live oak that frames the back of the home garden. Throughout the seasons the garden becomes an extension of the office.
